The organization is helping to reform the way people think about voluntourism. They advocate through very active social media channels. We use their facebook and twitter page to stay updated about intercultural learning campaigns and Responsible Volunteering. They also developed a very informative series about how to volunteer which they uploaded on their youtube channel. On top of that their website offers plenty of helpful materials (and ebooks) for anyone who is keen to learn about voluntourism.

Articles about voluntourism… The founder of Responsible Volunteering – People and Places, Sallie Grayson, posted plenty of helpful articles about voluntourism on her Pearltrees channel. Sallie is not only the Co-Founder of the a UK based volunteer travel company but also a passionate blogger. Pearltrees is an online based tool which allows users to organize, explore and share url`s, photos and documents. Unless you do not want to collect your own articles, you do not have to register.

VoFair – quality standarts in international volunteering

VoFair: Volunteer Fairly is a south american based NGO trying to bring quality standards to volunteer projects using a individual designed certification system. The organization stands for values and quality standards within the voluntourism industry and has a very informative website. VoFair also runs a facebook page they use to inform about volunteering, voluntourism, general topics, development cooperation and their own organization. Their Facebook page is on occasion a litle quite, where as the twitter page used to be active but has been silent since June.

Better volunteering: The facebook page Better Volunteering is run by Sallie Grayson, Harold Goodwin and Kate Stefanko who are co founders of the uk based and award winning voluntourism company people and places. The facebook page is very active and campaigns for sustainable (better) voluntourism by highlighting good practice and pointing out bad practice. The bloggers do not post about their own company but the news articles issues about voluntourism and voluntourism companies.
